(oil) just won Second Place in the Watauga Valley Art League Summer Show.  The judge's comments: Beautifully done with great attention to design elements and drawing.  Head pieces are extremely interesting to the eye, but not overbearing.  Facial characteristics are painted with compassion and show human warmth.  Fabric colors and complexity of line are very accomplished.  It shows warmth sensitivity and motion."

Music in My Soul (watercolor) just won Third Place in the Watauga Valley Art League Summer Show.  The judge's comments:This work shows very subtle watercolor technique with nice weight and space.  Effective articulation of the reflections on the instrument adding interest as the player is balanced quietly in the back.  Subtle with light, shadow and quiet detail.  Compelling overall."
